Yes. We use encryption, access controls, and security practices aligned with healthcare industry standards. EXPIN is a research tool, not a clinical product — while we are not a HIPAA-covered entity, we still treat your data with the same care.
We use location data to look at environmental exposures in your area: air quality, water contamination, and local health patterns. If you're not comfortable sharing your full address now, your city and state are enough. We'll collect a detailed residence history later, during onboarding.
EXPIN isn't a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Your report is intended to provide you and your doctor with greater insight into your disease, helping you address the factors you can change and better understand the ones you can't. Bring your report to your doctor to discuss a plan forward.
EXPIN is expanding access to science-backed, personalized care. Our team of human scientists and clinicians built proprietary AI to make this possible. We use AI to collect detailed information through a conversational interview format that's affordable, convenient, and done at scale. We do not use AI to generate medical conclusions or diagnoses, or to produce slop. The AI asks the questions; humans and evidence-based systems analyze the answers. Occasionally a human scientist will follow up to ask for more. You also have the option to schedule a consultation with one of our scientists to discuss your report.
